I believe the swallow should give this AMERICAN ASSOCIATION MVP and Champion outfielder a chance in 2021. (22 HR in 58 games this season)

Good weekly recap, Kozo! I wanted to take the time to thank your colleague, David Watkins, for taking my friend and me to our very first Swallows game on Saturday night. Of course, Carasiti blew the save and the team went on to lose in Swallows-like fashion, but it was a spectacular experience I know I will never forget. Probably most memorable were the Tokyo Ondo umbrella dances (that three-run inning featured a seemingly never-ending dance break) and how immaculate the stadium was. The fellow fans were also incredibly kind and hospitable. Looking forward to attending one more at Jingu next week!

I was at that game too, enjoying the atmosphere of my first Japanese baseball game and rooting for the Swallows. (I know almost nothing about the YS, but I enjoy a good baseball game.) I could not believe the meltdown and spent much of my walk back to the hotel replaying the sequence of events. It was quite a game, but I felt bad for the Swallows.

Ogawa wasn't just lifted for ineffectiveness. He went to the bench and it was announced he was receiving treatment, but he ultimately never came back into the game.

Hi Kozo, I was at this game with my daughter. It was our first ever baseball game. We both loved it. I'm now back in the UK, do you know if there is a way to watch the Swallows on satellite TV or anything like that? I'd like to follow them. Thanks Dom.

Hi David, I was in Tokyo 2 weeks ago and went to a Swallows game (first ever baseball game) - loved it despite the fact they lost 7-0 to the Giants. No one seemed to be too upset about this which was nice.

I was wondering if there is anyway to follow Japanese baseball from the UK. I've done a search but not found anything concrete. Do you have any ideas?

Thanks for the write up. What a disheartening game, when the two guys (Takeuchi and Ueda) that were put in there for defensive purposes botches up the game... Crazy that this wasn't the worst upset on this day though, as Hiroshima couldn't keep a 9-0 lead... Also, it's Enomoto not Kajimoto, who ran for Ugumori (both make up our recent P-League defect collection... all we need is a Lions guy, and our collection will be complete!).

While I'm sure it factored in if the Baystars intend to platoon at second base to develop young talent, but looking at the open-sen stats, it looks like he beat out Miyazaki (.344 BA vs. .220 BA) fair and square.

Wow, I wonder if they decided to put in Hiroyasu just because it was at Jingu (ie, he wouldn't have been starting for the Baystars on opening day in any other stadium).

I personally really want to sit in those new infield table seats :)
